Police seek Hit and Run driver…

TERRACE, BC: Additional experienced investigators have been brought into Terrace to assist RCMP near the central coast as the investigation intensifies and expands to locate the driver responsible for the fatal hit and run collision that occurred on Sunday.

Police say on Sunday a man in his 30s was found deceased in a ditch near Terrace. Investigation has revealed the man is from Terrace and was walking on Hwy 16 when he was struck by a vehicle. The incident occurred between 3 AM and 7 AM on November 18. The man was facing traffic when he was struck and there is obvious evidence he was hit by a vehicle.

Police have received a number of valuable tips and have now determined that the vehicle involved is a 2011-2016 Ford F350 pickup with damage to the passenger side, including the mirror. A boat trailer believed associated to the pickup has also been recovered, is being forensically examined and has damage consistent with the collision.

RCMP in Terrace are urging the responsible driver and/or their legal counsel to come forward. Police believe the driver responsible for this collision was not acting alone.

Anyone with information regarding this collision who has not already spoken with police are asked to call Sgt. Shawn McLaughlin with West Pacific Region Traffic Services at 250-638-7438 or, if you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), quoting file 2018-11029.
