PRINCE GEORGE, BC: On Monday October 8th, 2018 at approximately 9:30 AM, the Prince George RCMP received an urgent request to attend the intersection of 17th Avenue and Larch Street in Prince George.
Officers attended and found two adult males, one of whom was suffering from an apparent injury to the head. Through investigation, officers believe the two males were walking on 17th Avenue when a lone male wearing a mask approached them and demanded their phones.
The two men refused and the suspect produced what was believed to have been a hammer. One victim was struck on the head before the suspect fled on foot empty handed. The suspect was not located. The injured victim was treated in hospital and released.
The suspect was described as:
· Caucasian male
· 20 to 30 years old
· Wearing a red jacket, loose black pants, and a mask covering his face
The investigation is continuing.
Police would like to remind the public that the best course of action when faced in a situation like this, is to cooperate. Items can be replaced, lives cannot.
