Prince George man arrested on outstanding warrants…

PRINCE GEORGE, BC: A Prince George man with outstanding warrants was taken into custody Friday night following an attempt to evade police…

On Friday, September 28, 2018, at approximately 2:00 PM, members of the Prince George RCMP’s Street Crew observed a male with outstanding warrants for his arrest driving a black Chevrolet Cavalier in the 2700 block of Spruce Street. Officers activated emergency equipment in an attempt to stop the vehicle, however, the driver accelerated at a high rate of speed toward the intersection of Highway 97 and Highway 16. A short pursuit was initiated, but due to concerns for public safety, it was terminated. Several minutes later, the vehicle was observed heading eastbound on 1st Avenue.

At approximately 5:00 PM the same day, the Chevrolet Cavalier failed to stop at a road block that had been set up on Highway 16 East, on the west side of McBride. While fleeing from police, the driver nearly ran over a McBride RCMP officer.

Information received from the public assisted police in locating the driver of the vehicle at a motel near Valemount, B.C. At 10:00 PM that evening, the man was arrested by Prince George RCMP Street Crew, with the assistance of Valemount RCMP, McBride RCMP, Police Dog Services, RCMP Air Services, and the North District Emergency Response Team.

Jesse JUILLETTE, a 30 year-old Prince George resident, has been charged by Provincial Crown Counsel with the following Criminal Code offences, relating to this incident:
