QUESNEL, BC: Police in Quesnel continue to investigate following an attempted theft of a ATM machine at GR Baker Hospital in Quesnel just after midnight on Saturday…

Officers were called to the front entrance of GR Baker Hospital to a report of a smashed window.

When officers arrived on scene, they noticed a tow strap placed around the ATM in the lobby of the hospital. Evidence suggests suspects smashed the window to gain access to the machine by ripping it out with a tow strap. The strap broke and suspects fled the scene causing damage to the hospital front entrance.

Officers later caught up with the vehicle and it was identified as stolen and unoccupied.

With the assistance of a Tip from the general public, police have identified and arrested one male for this crime. The person has been released pending a court appearance in Quesnel at a later date.

The Quesnel RCMP was assisted by the North District Police Service Dog Unit as well as the Forensic Identification Unit out of Williams Lake.

Police are continuing the investigation and searching for other suspects involved.

If you have any information, no matter how small, we would ask that you contact the Quesnel RCMP at 250-992-9211 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
