PRINCE GEORGE, BC: The possibility of an increased number of evacuees related to growing wildfires in the region has prompted the City of Prince George to deploy an Emergency Reception Centre inside CN Centre on the grounds of Exhibition Park.
Accessed via an entrance at the south-east corner of the facility, the reception centre has been installed along a concourse in the arena, with a waiting area and tables for registering evacuees. The registration process enables evacuees to receive support with accommodation and food, along with information about various services available in Prince George. Pets can be cared-for just outside.
The nearby Kin 1 arena is also being readied to potentially accommodate up to 280 cots for people requiring temporary lodging.
