Discovered: Sunday, July 30, 2017

Size: 1,457.5 hectares (estimated)

Status: Active
• 15% contained
The fire is exhibiting aggressive behaviour and is threatening the Driftwood FSR. As a result the road is CLOSED (with limited and/or sporadic access to some residents and industry) effective immediately south of Nation Lakes Park to the intersection of the Leo Creek FSR. The road closure may be in effect for several days.

No structures are immediately threatened at this time.

Structural protection has been set up on properties to the north east of the fire as a precaution, they are not currently threatened at this time.
Evacuation Order is in effect.

In addition to the Evacuation Order there is a Partial Closure Order for Nation Lakes Park. This includes the Indata, Limestone, Tchentlo and Progress Point campsites.

Cause: Lightning Caused

• 36 firefighters
• 5 helicopters
• 26 heavy equipment
Crews are continuing to build machine guard on the south and north flank to prevent fire from wrapping around Tchentlo Lake. Crews are building guard on the north flank of the fire to tie into the Purvis Lake road.

Crews continue to monitor the east flank and deal with spots where and as they occur, monitoring trigger points and taking action as necessary. These guards are holding, but the fire continues to challenge the eastern line adjacent to the Driftwood FSR.
