LILLOOET, BC: On August 1, 2018, at 12:56 p.m. Lillooet RCMP were notified that a small float plane had crashed on Tyaughton Lake in Gold Bridge which is located about 100 km west of Lillooet. Further calls to 911 advised that a number of nearby boats were trying to rescue the plane occupants.
Upon attendance, police confirmed that one individual was deceased. One occupant survived the crash and was transported to hospital with serious but what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries. One occupant has yet to be located and the E Division Underwater Recovery Team is currently on their way to assist.
RCMP focus is currently on advising the families of those involved.
Lillooet RCMP, the BC Coroners Service and the Transportation Safety Board are investigating. No further information is available at this time.
