Updated: Police on the lookout for suspicious van and driver…

UPDATED July 24. Police continue to investigate the suspicious occurrence near the skateboard park on Massey Drive in Prince George. The Prince George RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance with their investigation into the incident.

Any motorists with dash cams that were recording between 12:00 PM and 2:30 PM on July 23rd, 2018, in the areas of Massey Drive, Winnipeg Street, Carney Street, the Parkwood Mall or 15th Avenue are asked to please contact the Prince George RCMP.

Investigators are looking to identify the parties involved and determine where they had come from prior to the reported incident and where they went after that.

PRINCE GEORGE BC: On Monday, July 23rd, 2018, at approximately 1:25 PM, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a suspicious incident where an adult male driving a grey van picked up a young teenaged girl.

The incident occurred shortly after 1:00 PM near the skateboard park on Massey Drive in Prince George. Witnesses observed the male stop the van in the turn lane at the intersection of Massey Drive and Carney Street, and pick up the youth female; they believed that she may have been in distress and phoned police. The van was last seen headed northbound on Carney Street towards 15th Avenue.

The male was described as

  • 50 years of age,
  • 5’10” tall,
  • with grey hair and scruffy facial hair.
  • He was wearing a grey shirt with ripped jeans, and driving an older model grey minivan.

The youth female was described as

  • 12-14 years old,
  • 5’2” tall,
  • wearing a checkered tank top,
  • and having short brown hair with blue streaks in it.

The relationship between the two is unknown at this time.

Investigators would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident and to the person(s) involved to ensure the safety of all parties.
