FORT ST. JOHN, BC: A Fort St. John man is recovering after severing an artery in his arm Sunday morning…
Police responded to the incident located in the 8500 block of 86th Street at around 2 AM and found an unresponsive man laying next to the car.
Officers learned the man had recently come home from an evening out and may have been involved in an unspecified dispute. The man then punched the passenger side window out severing an artery in his arm. The man lost a considerable amount of blood.
Sgt. Tyreman explained that Doctors advised the man would likely have bled to death were it not for the efforts of Cst. Brooks, who managed to pack the wound to close off the artery inside the man’s arm to stop the flow of blood.
The man was airlifted to a Vancouver area hospital for treatment.
The detachment received feedback from Vancouver Doctors who applauded the incredible work done by Cst. Brooks, who was credited for saving this man’s life.
