2018-21257 – Prohibited Driver

On Sunday July 1, 2018 at approximately 2:00 AM, members of the Prince George RCMP were conducting a road safety check on Highway 16 near Peden Hill in Prince George. A known prohibited driver provided a false name to officers when stopped driving a vehicle through the road block. One of the officers recognized the driver and knew him to be prohibited from driving. The driver was arrested for Obstruction and Driving While Prohibited.

A search of the vehicle for identification, found a weapon, small amount of drugs and a large amount of cash. All were seized. The accused was released for court on September 13, 2018.

2018-21314 – Possible Shots Fired

On Sunday July 1, 2018 at approximately 2:00 PM, the Prince George RCMP responded to a report of possible shots fired on the 400 block of Ogilvie Street in Prince George. Members attended and spoke to a female that believed she heard gun shots. No evidence of gun shots found and no other reports from the public.

While clearing the residence for safety, one 34 year-old male was found in possession of a significant quantity of drugs including Fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin. The investigation is continuing and charges are possible.

2018-21343 – Attempted Break-in / Possible Assault

On Sunday July 1, 2018 at approximately 7:00 PM, the Prince George RCMP responded to a report of a male trying to break-in to an occupied residence. Members attended and found the suspect soaking himself with a hose on the front lawn. The male was in a state of panic and uncooperative. It is believed that he was pepper sprayed (not by police) and was suffering the effects. Paramedics were called to assist.

2018-21374 – Weapons Report

On Sunday July 1, 2018 at approximately 11:30 PM, the Prince George RCMP responded to a weapons report at a local gas station. Officers attended and located the suspect near-by. The adult male was found to be in possession of a small garden tool sticking out of his pocket. The tool was thought to have been a handgun, prompting a call to police. Although the man was released, reporting this incident was the right thing to do. It is the job of the police to ensure the public is safe.

2018-21377 – Hit & Run with Pedestrian

Also on Sunday July 1 at approximately 11:30 PM, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a Hit & Run Collision with a pedestrian that occurred in the area where Queensway turns into Ferry Avenue in Prince George.A pickup truck drove up on the sidewalk and struck a pedestrian with a side mirror and then fled the scene. Emergency Services arrived and located an adult male victim suffering from what appeared to be minor injuries. He was transported to hospital by paramedics for treatment. Witnesses provided valuable information that led officers to locate and arrest a 46 year-old Prince George man believed to be responsible for the collision.

The suspect gave two breath samples that were more than double the legal limit for alcohol. He was released for court on September 26, 2018. The suspect has also been prohibited from driving for 90 days and the vehicle has been seized for evidence.

2018-21428 – Home Invasion Assault

On Monday July 2, 2018 at approximately 1:00 PM, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a Home Invasion Assault at a residence on the 300 block of Carney Street in Prince George. Members believe that an adult male kicked in the door to the residence and began assaulting an adult male resident before fleeing on foot. A 41 year-old male suspect was arrested a short distance away.

He was held in custody and will appear in Provincial Court today. The BC Prosecution Service has approved the following Criminal Code offences against Leif Birch MYLTOFT of Prince George.

Members believe that an adult male kicked in the door to the residence and began assaulting an adult male resident before fleeing on foot. A 41 year-old male suspect was arrested a short distance away.

He was held in custody and will appear in Provincial Court today. The BC Prosecution Service has approved the following Criminal Code offences against Leif Birch MYLTOFT of Prince George

2018-21469 – Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

Just before 6:30 PM on Monday July 2, 2018, the Prince George RCMP was advised of a recent theft of a vehicle from Vanderhoof, BC.A General Duty Officer located the vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 16 in the Mud River area, just west of Prince George. The driver and lone occupant was arrested without incident.

Kyla Michelle BRENTON, 23 year-old female resident of Prince George, has been charged by the BC Prosecution Service with the following Criminal Code offences:

Theft on Motor Vehicle
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000
Fail to Comply with Probation

BRENTON was held in custody overnight and will appear in Provincial Court later Tuesday afternoon.
