PRINCE GEORGE, BC: On Friday June 22, 2018, the Prince George RCMP received a report that a stolen Kenworth semi-truck from Whitecourt Alberta was sighted heading west on Highway 16 approaching Prince George, BC. The stolen truck was pulling a flatbed trailer with a bulldozer on it.
Multiple officers located the truck and activated emergency equipment along 1st Avenue in Prince George. The driver of the truck pulled over. The truck was confirmed to have been stolen from Whitecourt, Alberta earlier in the day. The two occupants were arrested without incident.
Checks of the trailer and bulldozer were found to have been stolen from Edson Alberta the previous day, June 21. Total value of the property was in excess of $500,000.
Darren Robert KELLY, 45, and 29 year-old Grenville CLARKE, have been charged by the BC Prosecution Service with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 (3 counts)
KELLY is also charged with Possession of Break-in Instruments. Both men are from Edson, Alberta and will appear in Provincial Court today.
