John Banky’s *disappearance now deemed a homicide…

FORT ST. JOHN, BC: Some sad news out of Fort St. John today as police release more on a residential fire that resulted in a missing persons report…

On March 30, RCMP began the investigation after a home caught fire on Hannaford Road in Charlie Lake which gutted the mobile home.

John Banky was murdered in his own home on March 30, 2018 and police are now asking for help with the investigation.

At 6:29 AM that same morning, a report was received that the homeowner’s vehicle was on fire on Golf Course Road, also in Charlie Lake. On April 11, a news release was issued stating humans remains were found inside the burnt home, but John was still listed as missing as the BC Coroners Service conducted an investigation.

Investigators now believe John’s death is a homicide. As in any investigation, the police require and are asking for assistance from the public to continue to advance this investigation.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call the Fort St. John RCMP at 250 787-8140 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

*We have decided to change the original headline to appropriate choice of wording since the original headline meant we assumed John Banky was that, of those remains found on April 11, prior to an investigation taking place. Apologies for the error indeed. This means we have also removed it from Facebook, all original shares have been deleted off Facebook. PJXM News.
