Updated: Police seek Hit and Run suspect…

PRINCE GEORGE, BC: UPDATE: The person who fled the scene of this accident turned themself into police on Monday, May 7.

The Prince George RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect involved in a collision with a cyclist on University Way late Saturday morning…

Police say a cyclist remains in hospital and the driver of a vehicle that hit him has not been located. The vehicle fled after leaving the scene at about 10:00 AM Saturday morning on University Way near UNBC.

“We are asking to speak with anyone who has any information related to the vehicle – identified by witnesses as a black 2016 to 2018 GMC Sierra 1/2 tonne pick up truck – to call the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or call there local Crimestoppers”, stated Staff Sergeant Steve McLeod, “If you were involved in this collision, we ask that you do the right thing and come forward and speak with our investigators”.

Prince George Municipal Traffic Section continues their investigation with assistance of the North Districts Integrated Collision Analyst/Reconstructionist Service.

No further information is being released at this time.
