Police say the incident began at around 2:30 PM on March 6 when a motorist called 911 to let them know of a possible unsecure load of hay bales on a trailer.
A short time later, a North District RCMP officer located the vehicle at the intersection of Hwy 16/97 in Prince George. The officer pulled the truck over and immediately called for CVSE (Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement) to attend the scene.
The officer spoke to the driver of the truck and observed signs of impairment. The officer, along with CVSE made an arrest and issued the driver a 90 day Immediate Roadside Prohibition. The driver had his truck towed and was charged under the Liquor Control and Licensing Act.
CVSE completed an inspection on the truck and trailer and found it had passed load and safety requirements.
