Police say just after 6 AM, emergency crews responded to a report of a crash on the 100 Forest Service Road, north of Fort St. James.
Upon arrival, officers located a fully loaded logging truck down a 15-foot embankment. The crash caused the logs to trap the driver inside the cab of the truck. The male driver, a 44 year-old from Merritt, was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is ongoing and police continue to gather forensic evidence to help determine the causal factors in this crash.
