FORT ST. JOHN, BC: A local business in Fort St. John was damaged overnight after a suspect drove a stolen vehicle through a wall to gain access…
Police say at approximately 4:30 AM, officers responded to a multiple hit alarm at Backcountry located at 10120 Alaska Road.
Investigation reveals that a 1996 Ford F-250 was stolen from a nearby business and used to smash through an exterior wall of the business. The suspect drove the truck inside the store causing extensive damage to merchandise and displays and then fled the scene prior to police arrival.
Investigators continue to work with the staff of Backcountry to identify what was stolen. Police do say all firearms have been accounted for.
The stolen truck was later found on fire near the 267 Road with no sign of the suspect. Police are also looking to speak a pedestrian who was walking eastbound on Alaska Road minutes before the incident occurred.
