PRINCE GEORGE, BC: An impaired driver was issued a 90 Day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP), after police caught up with the driver who allegedly didn’t know he was dragging two of his snowmobiles south of Prince George…
Police say on Saturday at approximately 6:41 PM, North District Traffic Services were on routine patrol when they witnessed a Dodge Ram pickup truck dragging behind two snowmobiles that had fallen off its trailer along Highway 97 south.
Police pulled in behind the truck and immediately pulled it over near the old Cariboo Highway. Once the driver had pulled over, he finally realized what had happened. Police immediately learned the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol.
Luckily nobody was hurt as the incident could have been much worse. Several motorists called 911 to report the bizarre incident to police. The driver was issued a 90 day IRP, the truck was impounded and the snowmobiles were secured and towed back to Prince George.
The driver was also issued a violation ticket for having an unsecured load.
