Update 2: The Winter Storm Warning has ended! Now we must dig ourselves out! Good luck and drive safe as there are still travel advisories on Hwy 16 East. Check DriveBC.ca for more information.
Update: Moderate to heavy snow continues for the region. An additional 10 to 25 cm is forecast. The system is expected to move out Thursday.
Wednesday Update: Morning folks! Today is going to be another snow filled day in the Central Interior and Cariboo regions. All updates will be posted to this story.
So far Prince George has had approximately 20 cm of snow fall since yesterday late morning with an additional 15 to 25 cm forecast today and tonight. Snow will be light to moderate at times throughout the day in PG. Can’t say the same for the Cariboo region…
For today in the Cariboo, heavy snow is forecast for Quesnel and Williams Lake. An additional 30 to 40 cm is forecast for Quesnel while Williams Lake could also see up to 40 cm by Thursday night when the system is supposed to weaken.
Freezing rain is also playing a role the further south you go along Highway 97 so use extreme caution while driving or just don’t go on the highways at all if you don’t need to as per police message on Tuesday. As always, please check DriveBC.ca before you leave!
