KAMLOOPS, BC: The Kamloops RCMP is asking for the public’s help with a Hit and Run Fatality that occurred on the Coquihalla Hwy…
Police say on January 7 at approximately 9 PM, RCMP Traffic Services was notified of a body lying on the Coquihalla Highway near the Trans Canada Highway interchange.
Investigation has revealed a 21 year-old male was struck by a vehicle and the vehicle continued on without stopping to see what was hit. The male victim was pronounced deceased on scene.
Kamloops RCMP would like to talk to anyone driving in the above area Sunday night who may have thought they hit an animal or who now see damage to some part of their vehicle.
Due to the conditions at the time of the accident, it was nighttime, there was no illumination and the victim was dressed in black clothes, police believe it is possible that the driver of the vehicle may not have known they hit the victim or thought the impact was from an animal.
If you have any information on this accident, please contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
