Pine Centre closed after truck smashes through south entrance…

PRINCE GEORGE, BC: Police continue to investigate following an early morning Robbery at a local mall.

Just before 4:00 AM on Tuesday July 4th, 2017, the Prince George RCMP received a weapons report at Pine Centre Mall on Massey Drive in Prince George… 

Officers immediately attended and soon learned that a lone, masked suspect drove a vehicle through the south entrance to the mall where barriers are located on the inside of the entrance and locked to the floor. The barriers were completely destroyed by the truck which made its way through destroying more obstacles before stopping near Ardene.

It is believed that the suspect was accessing a store in the mall when mall security arrived. The suspect fired a shot from a gun and then fled the property on foot. The security guard was unharmed.

A Police Dog Services Team was called in to assist in locating the suspect, however all efforts have been negative so far.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male
  • Wearing a black hoody, dark blue jeans, white and grey shoes and a white mask

 

The vehicle used is described as:

  • Ford F-350 with dual rear wheels
  • 4 doors
  • White
  • With a flat deck instead of a box

 

The truck is believed to have been stolen.

The investigation is continuing.
