PRINCE GEORGE, BC: Two people have died following two separate crashes Sunday in the Prince George and Mackenzie region…
The first incident occurred on Highway 16 East of Prince George Sunday afternoon at around 4:30.
Police say approximately 15 km east of Purden Lake, a 5-ton truck was headed westbound when it slowly drove off the road and overturned on an embankment. The passenger in the vehicle suffered severe head trauma as a result of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, however police do not believe speed or alcohol to be a factor in this crash.

The second incident occurred Sunday evening at approximately 8:30 PM on Highway 97 in the Pine Pass.
North District RCMP and Mackenzie RCMP responded to a single vehicle crash involving a jeep. Upon arrival to the scene, crews located one person deceased and another trapped inside the vehicle.
The jeep was travelling north on Highway 97 when the driver lost control and drove in to the ditch. The driver was thrown from the vehicle and suffered severe head trauma. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger was removed from the vehicle and transported to hospital for treatment for injuries that are described as non-life threatening.
The investigation is ongoing and police believe alcohol and distracted driving to be causal factors in this crash.
