WILLIAMS LAKE, BC: This past weekend, the newly formed Crime Reduction Unit along with General Duty RCMP members executed a search warrant that resulted in the seizure of multiple firearms, a variety of drugs, and over twenty thousand dollars in cash from a suspected drug trafficker’s residence…
Police seized drugs suspected to be crystal meth, cocaine, heroin, shatter and marijuana. The firearms, which were prohibited or modified included a rifle and a restricted handgun.
After an extensive investigation police, armed with a judicial authorization under the Controlled Drug & Substance Act (CDSA), searched a local residence in Williams Lake on Sunday, May 28, 2017.
Along with the items seized, officers arrested two men. Both men are well known to police and are expected to make a court appearance in Williams Lake Provincial Court.
“Acquiring prohibited weapons and the selling of illicit drugs will not be tolerated” said Insp Jeff Pelley, OIC Williams Lake Detachment. Williams Lake RCMP.
The Crime Reduction Unit will continue to focus on individuals who engage in this sort of activity.
