WILLIAMS LAKE, BC: One person is dead and two others are in serious condition following a single vehicle crash just before 1 AM Saturday..
Police were notified of the crash on Horsefly Road in Horsefly BC and upon arrival to the scene, officers found a Toyota Tacoma pickup which left the roadway, rolled and collided with a hydro pole. The crash broke off the power pole and it landed on the driver’s side of the pickup.
The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced deceased at the scene and two passengers were taken to hospital with injuries that have been described as serious in nature. A fourth passenger was uninjured.
A Collision Reconstructionist was called to the scene to assist the Williams Lake RCMP. The investigation is ongoing however, at this time, police believe alcohol to be a causal factor in the crash.
The crash resulted in the loss of power to approximately 600 residents in the Horsefly area. The road was closed to traffic in both directions as investigators gathered evidence. The road has since been reopened to single lane alternating traffic as BC Hydro personnel complete the installation of a new power pole.
