Counterfeit U.S. money circulating in Fort St. John…

FORT ST. JOHN, BC: The Fort St. John RCMP is currently investigating numerous reports of the use of counterfeit currency being circulated throughout various Fort St John businesses.

Since April 21, 2016, the Fort St John RCMP has investigated 5 reports involving the use of $50 bills in United States Currency. The use of counterfeit currency is illegal and can have lasting effects on the economy both locally and nationally.

“These investigations are on-going. Anyone who is accepting cash should beware of the recent reports of counterfeit U.S. dollars being used,” said Cst. SAGGAR of the Fort St John RCMP.
