Standoff in Quesnel ends peacefully…

QUESNEL, BC: The Quesnel RCMP along with the North District RCMP in Prince George continue to investigate a standoff that occurred during the overnight hours of March 18… 

Police say at 3:30 AM, officers recieved a report of a man who attended a residence in the 2200 block of Cedar Road in Quesnel armed with a handgun.

Police set up a safety perimeter around the residence and evacuated surrounding homes.

Around 8:30 AM with the Prince George Police Service Dog, members of the North District Emergency Response team, and the Quesnel RCMP, members were able to have the suspect exit the residence where he was taken into custody without incident or injuries to anyone.

The Quesnel RCMP wish to that the individuals who were evacuated in the surrounding area for their patience and speedy evacuation during this volatile situation.

No further information will be released as this time as the investigation is still in its early stages.
