Caught: RCMP request public’s help to locate prisoner…

The prisoner has been caught in Fort Nelson, BC as of Jan 26, 2016.

We hope to have more details by either the Peace River RCMP in Alberta or North District RCMP here in Prince George since the incident ended in BC. Once those become available we’ll update with a new story.

Peace River, AB: The RCMP requests the public’s help in locating Peace River Correctional Facility prisoner Harley John LAY, age 29, who was removed from custody at approximately 10 a.m. today by an armed and masked man, and a second unknown driver.

Harley John LAY, 29

The man confronted the two Peace River Correctional officers escorting LAY to Peace River Hospital for medical treatment. The officers did not resist his demand. LAY’s picture is attached.

The three men then drove away in what is believed to be a beige Dodge minivan with no license plate available. The van was last seen on 74 Street in Peace River, possibly heading towards Highway 2.

The public is advised NOT TO APPROACH LAY or people he may be with. Anyone with information as to his whereabouts, the vehicle or the two other men involved in this incident is asked to call Peace River RCMP at (780) 624-6677 or your local police department immediately.

If you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or report it online at http://www.tipsubmit.com
