PG RCMP investigating four suspicious incidents…

Prince George, BC: The Prince George RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in a few suspicious incidents, two involving children… 

Police say on Thursday at approximately 1:45 PM, officers received a report from the vice principal of a high school in College Heights advising a female student was asked to approach an unknown vehicle, twice that morning at around 8:15 AM. 

The male driver is described as:

  • Caucasian male
  • 40 to 50 years-old
  • Pale white, saggy skin with scabs on the bridge of his nose and cheek
  • Short brush cut brown hair
  • Wearing a brown Carhartt jacket

The vehicle was described as a dark coloured and dirty Ford F-150 pick-up truck.

At approximately 2:25 PM, officers received another report of a suspicious incident near another area high school.

A member of the public called police to report that a male in a van was throwing snowballs at students on their way home from school.

This occurred near Renwick Crescent and Edmonton Street. Before calling police, the member of the public confronted the man who stated that he liked talking to the students and that he just arrived here from Newfoundland.

He is described as:

  • Older male
  • Wearing blue jeans and a hat similar to those worn in the outback of Australia

The vehicle is described as a white van with a charcoal coloured bottom/base, similar to a Chevrolet Montana. 

Extensive patrols were made in the area, but the vehicle or the male were not located.

Police do not believe these two incidents are linked. 

Police would like to speak to the men involved in these incidents. If you know who either of these men are or have any information about these incidents, please contact the Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300.

Police are reminding the adult public that it is not appropriate to approach school aged children not known to you.

Two more suspicious incidents occurred on Friday, January 8…

PG RCMP received two more suspicious persons reports that officers believe are related.

At approximately 7:45 AM, the Prince George RCMP received a report of suspicious incident near the corner of 15th Avenue and Central Street East in Prince George.

An adult female was on foot in that area when an unknown adult male began a conversation with her. The man acted strangely and made strange comments making the female feel uncomfortable and unsafe.

The male kept walking on foot, east bound on 15th Avenue.

He is described as:

  • Caucasian male
  • 5’8″
  • 35 to 40 years-old
  • Short “buzz cut” hair with brown facial hair
  • Wearing a black winter coat and had a lanyard of keys in his hand

At approximately 8:45 AM, officers received a call from the administration of Harwin Elementary School on Harper Street, near 15th Avenue.

Police were advised that a student had been spoken to by an adult male on 15th Avenue before school. The adult was acting strangely, leaving the child to feel uncomfortable.

The child, who was not touched, continued on to school and reported the incident to administration.

The man is described as:

  • Caucasian male
  • 55 years-old
  • Grey hair and a “scruffy” beard
  • Wearing beige clothes

Patrols were made in both cases, no one was located.

Due to the close proximity in time & location, information gathered from the witnesses and similarities found, police are investigating the possibility that the persons reported on in each of these investigations may be the same person and may be suffering from a mental disability.

Police would like to speak to the person or persons involved in these incidents.
