Fort Nelson, BC: The Northern Rockies RCMP is investigating a shots fired incident in Fort Nelson on New Year’s Day…

Police say at approximately 5:00 AM, officers responded to reports of someone allegedly being shot at with a rifle after a dispute between a group of people went wrong in the Villars Trailer Park in Fort Nelson. 

When police arrived on scene, they stopped a suspicious vehicle leaving the area. The vehicle was occupied by a number of people who officers believed to be involved in the altercation.

A total of 5 people were were arrested for investigation. Four have since been released while one remains in custody.

“This was an isolated incident and all parties involved in the incident are known to each other”, says Staff Sergeant Steve McLeod, Northern Rockies RCMP detachment commander.

“Fortunately, no one was injured.”

The investigation into this incident continues.
