Fort St. James, BC: The Fort St. James RCMP is asking for the public’s help following a suspicious fire that destroyed a home near Highway 27 on Sunday…
Thankfully no one was inside the residence at the time and no one was injured.Police say at 4:18 am, off-duty officers from Fort St. James were heading up Highway 27 and observed flames shooting from a home at 40 Williams Prairie Road. The officers immediately contacted the Fort St. James Volunteer Fire Department along with on-duty RCMP officers. The house was fully engulfed and could not be saved.
The property was secured and Forensic Identification Section from Prince George attended and examined the scene.
At this time, the fire is being treated as suspicious and the Fort St. James RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance to call if they saw anything or have any knowledge about this fire.
Police are specifically asking for any witnesses who may have been driving on Highway 27 (North Road) between 3:00 am and 4:18 am. Police are asking for the public to call if they saw any vehicles or pedestrians coming or going from Williams Prairie Road around that time.
